SuperSport United captain Clayton Daniels said they deserved the point against Orlando Pirates because they stuck to their guns.
SuperSport missed the chance to move clear of the relegation zone after playing to a goalless draw with the Buccaneers on Wednesday evening.
“It was a collective effort,” Daniels told SuperSport after the match.
“In the first half we pressed them high, they could not come out of the game and we had control of the game.
“Come second half, they were more on the ball but it was important that we keep our structure.
“I can’t do it on my own. Credit to the boys. They stuck to their guns.
“It was tough. If we took our opportunities in the first half, we could have come away with more, but we need this type of performances, especially where we are on the log (third from bottom).
“We need fighters, we need characters. Every game is going to be like this and every game we have to show up.
“I am happy with my performance and my team’s performance.”
