Usuthu suffered a third straight Absa Premiership defeat after going down 1-0 to the Buccaneers thanks to Vincent Pule’s early strike in the second half.

“Absolutely not I think I need to be there for the team and unfortunately if I could I would trade this man of the match award for three points but unfortunately not,” Mbatha told SuperSport after the game.

“Unfortunately for us now it’s back to the drawing board. I think we need to take the positive out of tonight’s game and move on. I think we have two home games, we need to make it work, we need to start getting points,” he added.

As a result of the defeat, Jozef Vukusic's men remain rooted to the foot of the league although they withing touching distance of safety.

“The result doesn’t suit us at all. Performance wise, it was game of two halves. We dominated the first half, they had no idea what was going on. We created chances, but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

“Second half, they came back, we knew that they would come at us because the longer the game went without them scoring it means the fans are going to be on their back and it’s going to be difficult for them.

“Eventually they got a goal and it was an uphill battle for us because now we’re playing for time and we wanted to get a goal but it became difficult. But we tried and tried and they had more chances now because we’re trying to get a goal and they caught us on counters all the time,” Mbatha said.
