Mamelodi Sundowns’ academy player Motsi Matima has penned a professional contract with NFD outfit, FC Cape Town.
The latest youth prospect to come out of the Chloorkop-based club has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with FC Cape Town. The club’s CEO, Errol Dicks has confirmed the news to the Siya crew.
“Yes, we have signed him. It’s a two year contract. I have been watching him play since the Bay Hill, and have always thought that he is a special talent. At the time he was contracted to (Mamelodi) Sundowns and when he was made available I grabbed the opportunity with both hands,” Dicks revealed.
“He is good enough to play in Europe and as part of our philosophy at the club, where we take players to Europe, we believe that he can play in Europe,” he concluded.
Matima was the former captain of Sundowns’ Diski team, and now the 20-year-old has signed his first professional contract and will be plying his trade in the NFD for the coming season.
FC Cape Town’s first fixture in the National First Division will take place on 28 August at the Olen Park Stadium, where Major David Bright’s side will face Jomo Cosmos.
