Sundowns have since announced their 23-man travelling squad for the fixture, with many of their first team players not making the trip.

Reyaad Pieterse has not travelled with the Brazilians, with indications that the player is cup-tied, having turned out for SuperSport United in the CAF Confederations Cup, while Sundowns have already registered three goalkeepers; Thela Ngobeni, Kennedy Mweene, Denis Onyango, for CAF.

Toni Silva, who was signed by Sundowns early in July this year, is yet to make an appearance for the Brazilians, having not yet been included in neither the line-up or in the match-day squad.

George Lebese and Rivaldo Coetzee have also been excluded from the squad, with the players yet to return to full fitness, with Lucky Mohomi and Thokozani Sekotlong also absent from the squad.

New signings Lyle Lakay and Mosa Lebusa has also not travelled with the Brazilians and it remains to be seen whether Lebusa will be registered for the competition, wit Lakay also cup-tied having turned out for Cape Town City in the CAF Confederations Cup.
