Edward Manqele’s representatives are expected to meet with Mamelodi Sundowns to discuss the player’s future for next season and beyond. The striker is spending the season on loan at Moroka Swallows.
The 26-year-old has done fairly well for Swallows, although the goals have dried up for him lately. Manqele is known for his desire to play for defending league and Nedbank Cup champions, Kaizer Chiefs.
“The player’s representatives are expected to have a meeting with Sundowns next week to discuss his future. They will be discussing whether they will be selling him or not. We’ll hear after the meeting. The player wants to leave (Sundowns). His heart is with Chiefs,” a source close to the player revealed.
Manqele is tied with Chiefs’ Knowledge Musona as the 2nd joint top goal scorer with eight goals each so far this season.
The former Free State Stars player was in the Bafana Bafana side that played in the African Nations Championship (Chan) earlier this year.
