Mamelodi Sundowns have their sights on North West Shining Stars defender, Pule Nonyane, to strengthen their team for the 2014/15 season.
The left back has been doing well for the ABC Motsepe League outfit much to the interest of his observers from Chloorkop.
Stars owner, Sello Ntsoko, confirmed to the Siya crew that the 24-year-old recently had a trial with Sundowns.
“He was at Sundowns last week. He spent the whole week with them. He only came back to us on Friday and joined the team for the game we played on Saturday. They sent a scout, Malombo Lechaba, to assess him in a game situation. Sundowns played with (Kaizer) Chiefs then Bloemfontein Celtic and didn’t play any friendly games. He was good at training but they wanted to see him in a game situation. That’s why they sent a scout to watch him. He created two goals and scored one for himself in the game on the weekend,” said Ntsokolo.
Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, has been playing Mzikayise Mashaba at left back ahead of the experienced duo of Punch Masenamela and Tebogo Langerman in recent matches.
