Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Eleazar Rodgers, has confirmed to the Siya crew that he’s still waiting to hear from the club regarding his future.
The striker spent the past season on loan at Ajax Cape Town, and is now enjoying his off-season and will return to the Chloorkop-based club for pre-season to know what the future holds.
Speaking to the crew, the Kuils River-born lanky forward revealed that he doesn’t know where he will be playing next season yet.
“I’m enjoying my off-season and enjoying myself at home. I cannot tell you what’s happening for now, but will know when it’s time to report for the pre-season. I just read on newspapers that coach, Pitso Mosimane, will assess all the on-loan players and make his decision after the assessment. I’m not sure how true is that. I will definitely go back to Jo’burg for pre-season and will take it from there."
“There was nothing or talk from Ajax when the loan deal came to an end, but it’s up to Sundowns to decide on my future as I’m contracted to them. If Sundowns are not going to use me next season, going back to Ajax wouldn’t be a bad option for me you know. I have some other things I’m busy with in Cape Town and staying wouldn’t be a bad choice."
"My career will also benefit in the sense that I will be playing. However, that all depends on other offers and what Sundowns have to say, but for me it’s not about money,”
The former Santos forward started 11 games and came off the bench four times for the Urban Warriors, while netting four goals.
