Mamelodi Sundowns Register 31 Players, No Kwanda Mngonyama And Mogakolodi Ngele
Mamelodi Sundowns have registered 31 players for the 2017/18 campaign, with the Kwanda Mngonyama and Mogakolodi Ngele’s names not on the squad list released by the Premier Soccer League.
Sundowns will return back to domestic action this weekend, after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League competition in the quarter-final stages.
The league has since released the official squad list for the 2017/18 season, with 31 of Sundowns’ players currently eligible to play in South Africa’s top flight.
However, Ricardo Nascimento, Mzikayise Mashaba, Mngonyama, Ngele, Cuthbert Malajila and Fiston Abdul Razak have not been included on the list of registered players, with indications that these players are not in Head Coach Pitso Mosimane’s plans for the 2017/18 season.
Sundowns currently have all five of their foreign quota spots filled with Leonardo Castro, Soumahoro Bangaly, Yannick Zakri, Fares Hachi and Razak Brimah.
As reported previously by the Siya crew, the Brazilians were awaiting Ngele and Malajila’s South African citizenship and as revealed earlier today, only Malajila has received his permanent residency papers.
However, despite it being revealed to Soccer Laduma that Sundowns were awaiting confirmation on Malajila’s situation, the player’s name has not been included on the list of registered players for the 2017/18 campaign.
Now, it remains to be seen what decision the Chloorkop-based club will make on the immediate future of the likes of Mashaba, Mngonyama and Ngele.
