Mamelodi Sundowns will be jetting off to finals of the 2014 Manchester United Premier Cup in Manchester in Auguest after winning the local qualifying competition this weekend.
The Manchester United Premier Cup is a tournament for U15 teams from across the world, and Sundowns will hope to follow in the steps of Orlando Pirates, who were losing finalists in the competition in 2011.
Sundowns beat Harmony Football Club 1-0 in the Final of the South African qualifying competition on Sunday to book their place.
Buhle Mafondololo scored the only goal of the final for Sundowns.
Kopano Thutsane of the Augusto Palacios Academy was voted the top goalkeeper at the local tournament, while Ditabe Thabang of Harmony was the top scorer.
The overall player of the tournament was Mnelisi Mbhele of Sundowns.
Last year’s competition in Manchester was won by Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb and South Africa was represented by Rosina Sedibane.
