Sundowns Player Ratings V Swallows

Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Mamelodi Sundowns players from their 4-1 win over Moroka Swallows on 10 February 2015.

Dennis Onyango: 6

Onyango didn’t have much to do. He was virtually an spectator in the first half and only had to pick the ball out the back of the net following the penalty goal.

Mzikayise Mashaba: 6

He posed a threat in his left-back role in attack, but he did concede the penalty that led to Swallows’ goal in the first half.

Alje Schut: 7

Schut was solid in the centre of defence and also scored a goal after heading home a right-sided free-kick from Teko Modise.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele: 6

Was solid in his defensive role. He did nothing spectacular, but he did nothing wrong either.

Siyanda Zwane: 8

Was solid in his right-back role and offered an extra man in attack down the flank. He created his side’s third goal with a low cross into the box for Malajila to tap home.

Kudakwashe Mahachi: 6

Was a quite night for the player in midfield as he did not offer much in attack or defence. He did nothing wrong, but did not have a major impact on the game. He did miss a sitter in front of goal with just the keeper to beat in the second half.

Teko Modise: 8

Was a good night for the attacking midfielder as he created a goal in the first half for Schut and scored one himself from the long range free-kick.

Bongani Zungu: 6

It was a quiet night for Zungu in the heart of the Sundowns midfield. He did create a decent opening for Billiat early on in the game before the goals began to rain in.

Khama Billiat: 6

On a night where his team were free-flowing in attack, Billiat was rather quiet. He had one shot on goal early on in the game and created a second half chance for Mahachi, but other than that it was a dull game from the attacking midfielder.

Anthony Laffor: 7

Laffor played the supporting role in attack with aplomb and created his side’s second goal for Malajila. Was a constant threat in attack.

Cuthbert Malajila: 8

Was a good night for him in front of goal and posed a constant threat in attack. He bagged two goals on the night and was unlucky not to get a hat-trick.

Substitutes

Hlompho Kekana: 6

Came on in a defensive capacity and performed what was asked of him.

Katlego Mashego: N/A

Not on long enough to make any impact.

Themba Zwane: N/A

Not on long enough to make any impact.
