The Zimbabwean has been in football wilderness, since returning to Sundowns from a loan stint at KV Oostende in Belgium last year.
Mushekwi spent time on the side-lines at Sundowns, as he struggled with an injury on his return to the club.
The 27-year-old is one of the Sundowns’ players that have been training separately from the rest of the first team at the Chloorkop outfit.
Sources close to Sundowns have confirmed that Mushekwi jetted off to Sweden in search of possible move to Djurgardens IF.
According to a Sundowns source, Mushekwi started training with the side today with a possibility for a loan deal to be reached between the parties involved in his dealings.
Djurgardens is the same side that had Xolani Mdaki on loan from Sundowns last year.
Djurgardens have since confirmed on the club’s official website that Mushekwi has arrived and will be given a few days to impress the technical team.
“The 27- year-old striker will train with Djurgården for a few days. He comes from Zimbabwe, but his main merit is from the South African league where he plays with Mamelodi Sundowns,” the club’s official website revealed.
