Ngobeni is struggling for game-time at Downs. Having returned to the club from Free State Stars – where he played regularly and did well last season, Ngobeni hoped for a better season with Downs on his return.
Last season, the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper did well while on loan at Ea Lla Koto, but this season the 28-year-old is behind Denis Onyango, Brimah Razak and Kennedy Mweene on the pecking order.

Ea Lla Koto were keen on signing Ngobeni on a permanent deal at the end of his loan in Bethlehem. Sundowns were not keen to part ways with the player.
“Thela Ngobeni is keen on another loan move away from Sundowns but the club isn’t keen to part ways with him at the moment,” said the source.
