Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni has penned a new deal at the club, while still spending the season on loan at Free State Stars.
The shot-stopper’s initial contract with the club expired at the end of last season, which subsequently saw Sundowns exercise an option to extend his stay at the club for one more season.
Siya sources have since confirmed that Sundowns have offered the player a new contract, and Ngobeni has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Masandawana, including options.
Improving on his last deal with the Brazilians, Siya sources have also revealed that the new deal sees the player enjoy a salary increase.
However, despite it being clear that Sundowns are still interested in his services, Ngobeni is still down the pecking order at the club, with goalkeeper Denis Onyango as first-choice, and Wayne Sandilands and Kennedy Mweene following.
Ngobeni is currently on loan at Free State Stars, with the Siya crew having broken the news in the final hours of the transfer window that he would be plying his trade in Bethlehem this season.
