Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane didn’t beat about the bush in his post-match interview when he said his side controlled the league game against Moroka Swallows on Tuesday night.
The Brazilians were rampant in their first Absa Premiership match of 2015 with a convincing 4-1 win over the Birds at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Goals from Alje Schut, Teko Modise and a brace from Cuthbert Malajila in the opening 25 minutes saw them wipe the floor with the Swallows defence and Mosimane admits it was the perfect start.
“It was a very good start which each and every coach would like to have,” said Mosimane.
“We scored four goals and they were good goals to be honest – good, direct football play and we controlled the game.”
The Sundowns coach confesses his side let off in the second half, but added that Swallows are a good team and deserve respect.
“The second half we had lack of delivery of the ball behind the second man and we didn’t create enough chances, but I can’t complain,” added Mosimane.
“I think we could have scored more, but I liked the rush of the team and the pace going out on the counter.
“We played against a good team and they had their share in the second half and they deserve respect.
“It is a good welcome back for us.”
