The Brazilians have snapped up the likes of Phakamani Mahlambi, Toni Silva, Jose Ali Meza, Andile Jali, Lyle Lakay, Reyaad Pieterse, Lebohang Maboe and Mosa Lebusa over the course of the last few months, opening up their chequebook to build arguably the strongest squad in the Absa Premiership.
According to transfermarkt.com, the nine aforementioned players have a market value of upwards of £4.54m (around R90.6m) at present, with Andile Jali topping the charts at a whopping £1.17m (R23.3m).
Of their new signings, it is Reyaad Pieterse who has the lowest market value at £360,000 (R7.1m), and – along with Mahlambi – he is one of only two of them has not yet made their debut for the Brazilians.
Sundowns paid a transfer fee for seven of their nine new signings, with just Jali and Silva being snapped up as free agents having been released by their previous clubs in Europe.
