Mosimane: We Want To Sign Three More Players
Mamelodi Sundowns Are Set To Sign Three More Players In The Current January Transfer Window
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane revealed that the club is set to continue doing business during the current January transfer window.
The Brazilians concluded just one signing thus far this month, by acquiring the services of Aubrey Ngoma from Cape Town City.
As reported in recent weeks by the Siya crew, Masandawana were close to concluding more deals for players, with the likes of South American players and one Mozambican believed to be already in talks with the club.
Speaking in a post-match press-conference on Tuesday night, Mosimane revealed that he is set to make new additions to his squad as he feels that he currently does not have as many players at his disposal to compete for both the Absa Premiership title and the CAF Champions League.
“We have a small squad, but everyone knows Sundowns and having big numbers. We don’t have big numbers, we have got a small squad, we’ve got 24 players and that is why everybody has to play at Sundowns. So, as much as we are fighting to try and win the (Absa) Premiership, we are also, I would call it (preparing) for Champions League, we start in six weeks time, so we have a different program. Our objectives are different, that’s why this is the time to sign players for us, not in June, that is why we brought Aubrey (Ngoma) to come, we have to bring three more,” Mosimane revealed.
On the other hand, the head coach then went on to reveal that while the club will look to make more signings, there might be some players who could be heading out the door.
“At least if you have a squad of 24 again, I am happy with 24, it means some of the players will have to leave now, but you cant let players go when you don’t have those who you wish. So, I think we will bring in three more,” he added.
