Sundowns Aim For Extra Comfortable Cushion From Pirates

Mamelodi Sundowns will be eager to secure a six-point cushion over their league rivals when they host Golden Arrows this evening.

Should Masandawana claim maximum points this evening, the Brazilians will need just four points to go all the way to be crowned Absa Premiership champions.

After their 2-0 win over defending champions Bidvest Wits at the weekend, the Brazilians will be eager to continue their winning momentum.

Head Coach Pitso Mosimane has, at times, been forced to rotate his squad due to injuries and their busy schedule, but there have been a few players who have been key in getting the results.

Anele Ngcongca who was dropped from the squad in the clash against Baroka FC, returned to Mosimane’s starting line-up on the weekend in place of the recovering Thapelo Morena.

Percy Tau, on the other hand, played a huge role in the Brazilians' result over Wits, having assisted both Thema Zwane's and Sibusiso Vilakazi's goals on the weekend.

Ngcongca was one of the noticeable fighters for Mosimane, where according to the statistics, the right-back totalled 72 touches of the ball and made 48 successful passes. Ngcongca also made 11 clearances, helping his side to a clean sheet on the day.
