SuperSport United striker, Mame Niang, will definitely miss tomorrow’s game against Orlando Pirates, even if he makes a miraculous return from injury.
The 30-year-old forward underwent a scan on his injured arm yesterday after he picked up a knock in the 3-1 defeat to Maritzburg United, and while there were originally worries that he had broken it, it appears that's not the case.
Niang this morning confirmed to the Siya crew that his elbow was badly swollen and that he was in a lot of pain, though the doctors confirmed that he hadn’t broken anything.
However, even though his injury isn’t as serious as originally thought, according to the PSL, Niang will still miss the clash with Pirates due to suspension.
The exact length of the Senegalese forward’s injury lay-off remains unknown, however the news of his absence this week will be a relief to the Buccaneers, against whom he has already scored twice this season.
