SuperSport United striker, Mame Niang, will undergo a scan on his arm later this evening to assess the extent of the injury he sustained against Maritzburg United.
The 30-year-old picked up the knock during the 3-1 defeat to The Team of Choice last night, with his arm now swelling up and Niang being unable to move it.
Though the club are waiting for the results of the scans later tonight, there are worries that he may well have broken his arm.
Matsatsantsa’ Media and Communications Officer, Koketso Gaofetoge, explained, “We don’t know how serious Mame’s injury is yet, but it did look like a bad one. He’ll be going for scans today and we should find out how bad it is by this evening.”
If the Senegalese forward has broken his arm then it will mean that he faces a number of weeks on the sidelines, and if it is a serious break then his PSL season could be over.
Either way, the striker is highly unlikely to feature in SuperSport's next game, a PSL tie with Orlando Pirates.
