In their first game of the year, Platinum Stars will come up against rookies, Polokwane City and striker, Patrick Malokase, says they respect their opponents.
The MTN8 and Telkom Knockout champions forward believes that even though City are close to the relegation zone they still have to give them the respect they deserve.
“We are hoping to start this year on a high, everyone is back healthy and fit. In this league there’s no small teams anymore. The league is very competitive especially the second round. They have signed good quality players and they’ll definitely compete. Their aim is to come out of the bottom half so we really can’t take them for granted.
“On the other hand, the team has been boosted by the return of our teammates who were in the Chan tournament. Their exposure will absolutely pay beautifully for the team. Although some of them did not play, for them to go there, I believe that will help us in the league. That will motivate the team and their international experience will make them better players and improve our team's morale,” said the former Orlando Pirates forward.
Stars are currently sitting at position seven, and 'Rise and Shine' occupy the 13th spot on the premiership table.
