Malian goalkeeper Soumbeyla Diakite has been linked with a move to the Premier Soccer League (PSL), with the shot-stopper having impressed earlier in the year at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Diakite, who played a key role in eliminating Bafana Bafana from the Afcon, is being monitored by Free State Stars, Wits and SuperSport United ahead of the 2013/14 season.
A source close to the player disclosed to Soccer-Laduma that the player will be joining one of the teams for pre-season training.
“He is coming. It is not only one team that is interested in him but three. I can tell you that Wits and Free State Stars are the favourites, but SuperSport United are also interested in the goalkeeper.
“You know he is a skilled goalkeeper who can use both right and left feet. He has excellent timing and anticipation, in positioning and reading the game. He will be a great asset to whichever team signs him,” concluded the source.
