Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Cuthbert Malajila, says that he’s expecting fireworks when his current club faces his former club at Loftus tonight.
The 28-year-old Zimbabwean joined the Brazilians at the start of the season and has already impressed in Sundowns colours, scoring five goals in the PSL this season.
Now, as he prepares to face his old club, Maritzburg United, Malajila says that he’s never played in a dull game involving the two, and is not expecting that to change tonight.
Speaking to Sundowns’ official website he said, “In all the matches I have watched and played in between these two teams, there’s never been a dull moment. There’s always plenty of action and goals, hence I’m expecting this one to be no different.”
“There’s always something to play for when Sundowns and Maritzburg meet in a league match. Right now Sundowns wants to end the year on a high by finishing at the top of the table, while they are desperately trying to return to winning ways.”
“There’s a lot at stake here for both teams, which means we need to make our intentions clear from the first whistle, while not forgetting to shut the back door because Maritzburg can really hurt you on the counter attack.”
Downs welcome Maritzburg to Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 19h30 tonight as they attempt to reclaim their place on top of the PSL table.
