On Wednesday Bafana Bafana beat Angola 2-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to record their first win of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Striker Lehlohonolo Majoro contributed to the win by scoring the team’s second goal after coming on as a second-half substitute. The Kaizer Chiefs man, who has been in fine form at club level this season, netted his first goal in the national team colours.
Majoro got injured in the game and although there are indications that he could miss South Africa’s next two games, should they advance to the next round, he is confident that he will be fit for Sundays’ final group stage game against Morocco.
He said that the coach gave him the chance to play and he grabbed it with both hands.
"I am a striker. And what do strikers do? They score goals. I did my job and the team won. The most important thing is that as a team we did well and won the game. We wanted the win and we got it.
“As for my injury, it is not as serious as it looked at first. You see I can walk and I hope by Sunday I will have recovered. We need to be ready for the Morocco game and win it,” the Chiefs striker concluded.
