Orlando Pirates have announced that defender Rooi Mahamutsa is their Player of the Month for October.
The no-nonsense centre-back has played a crucial role for the Sea Robbers in recent weeks, and was even named CAF Champions League Player of the Week after scoring in their semi-final second leg against Esperance.
Revealing the news through the club's official website, a statement read, "Following the most closely-contested poll of the season so far, defender Rooi Mahamutsa has been named the Player of the Month for October.
"Mahamutsa received 34.5 per cent of the votes, edging out striker Lennox Bacela who picked up 31.7 per cent of the votes. Coming in third place was Happy Jele who had 18 per cent of the vote.
The Orlando Pirates centre back had an amazing run in October, registering a number of key performances for the Mighty Buccaneers, namely against Esperance in the CAF Champions League where he scored the all-important away goal which ensured Bucs’ path to the final.
"The 32 year old will be handed the keys of the 2013 Peugeot 208 GTI this week."
