Word reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates defender, Rooi Mahamutsa, is currently recovering well after undergoing an operation on his injured shoulder.
Mahamutsa suffered the injury during the Telkom Knockout semi-final clash against SuperSport United.
According to a source close to Pirates, Mahamutsa went for an operation on Wednesday and that’s the reason why he didn’t travel with the team to Durban to play AmaZulu.
Mahamutsa denied that he went for an operation, but could not explain to the Siya crew as to why he was not in Durban with the team.
“Who told you that I went for an operation? I’m training with the team. Well, yes it’s true that I didn’t travel with the team to Durban. I can’t answer that question as to why I’m not there,” said Mahamutsa.
The Siya source, however, insist that Mahamutsa did go for an operation.
“He is at hospital as we speak and has a bandage on his arm,” explained the source.
