Mxolisi Macuphu, who was recently released by Polokwane City, says he is in no rush to find a club.
In a move that shocked many, the 24-year-old midfielder had his contract terminated by the PSL newcomers after only one appearance. He had signed a two-year deal during preseason and had been looking forward to reviving his career.
Recent reports are that he had considered quitting football altogether but he tells the Siya crew that this is not the case.
He said, “You know people can just write things. I never said I’m retiring from the game. I’m just taking things easy, as I’m not eager to return to football. I love football, so there’s no way I can hang up my boots now, especially with age on my side."
Talking about his release from City, he says, "I’m still shocked. I don’t know what happened. I was just told to leave. I negotiated my settlement and then left. One thing’s for sure, my release had nothing to do with my performance.”
The Vosloorus-born player also revealed that he is currently studying towards an IT Diploma at TUT in Pretoria.
