Tiyani Mabunda’s frustrations at Mamelodi Sundowns are continuing, as he is said to have suffered an injury.
The talented central midfielder joined the club at the beginning of the season along with Raymond Monama and Rodney Ramagalela, after an impressive season at Black Leopards. But he has found it hard to get a starting berth in the star-studded Downs side.
To make matters worse, he has been unfortunate with a recurring hamstring injury at times when he is fighting to win a place in the team. According to a Siya source, the 25-year-old player’s season could well be over after he pulled a muscle at training recently.
With the season coming to an end and a host of new faces expected to arrive at the club in the new campaign, it is not yet clear what the future holds for the Giyani-born star in Chloorkop.
Monama and Ramagalela have not fared that much better either. Monama has since moved to University of Pretoria on loan, while Ramagalela has impressed only in bit parts in the few games where he has been given a chance to play.
