Lebohang Maboe scooped up the Man of the Match award in the win over Cape Town City, and he has now commented on his position change at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Maboe netted his sixth goal of the season as Sundowns defeated the Citizens 3-2 on Wednesday evening.
The 24-year-old has been deployed in the striker's role at Sundowns, and the positional change has certainly paid dividends for Pitso Mosimane.
“It all goes down to the hard work I’m putting in, in the training fields you know. It’s something I’ve been looking forward to,” Maboe told SuperSport after the game.
“The coach changed me to play in the striker’s role and I have to score the goals for the team, so I’m glad I was able to help tonight,” he continued.
“As a soccer player you have to versatile and be able play in a position that the coach want to play you in. I’m more than comfortable playing upfront.”
