No French Move For Bucs Starlet… Yet
Orlando Pirates’ talented young striker, Lyle Foster, will not be making a move overseas just yet, despite seemingly leaving a mark on coaches at AS Monaco in France.
It has been widely reported now that the 17-year-old striker spent time last month training with the French giants as they looked to take a closer look at him, with Foster having caught the eye of scouts during a trip to England with South Africa’s U20s.
While he has battled a couple of niggling injuries since making his Absa Premiership debut this season, he will now be focused on trying to get back into Milutin Sredojevic’s plans while decisions elsewhere are made about his future.
As reported in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, the striker is believed to have given a good account of himself while overseas, though his age means that an official move abroad won’t materialise in the January transfer window, or at any point until – at the earliest, September 4th when he turns 18.
Meanwhile, there is also a there is a possibility that he could agree to a deal in Europe in principle before he turns 18, and spend a few weeks training with the side leading up to his birthday.
