Kaizer Chiefs have taken their option on midfielder, Lucky Baloyi, by extending his contract at the club to a further two years.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has rarely played for the Amakhosi this season, with Stuart Baxter often opting to field other players in his place.
Meanwhile, the Siya crew has recently revealed that the player could be on his way out of the club next season, with several PSL outfits believed to be keen on tempting him away from Naturena.
However, Baloyi, who was handed the captain’s armband in the recent Nedbank Cup win over FC Buffalo, now only looks likely to leave on loan, if he leaves at all.
The midfielder’s agent, Walter Mokoena, confirmed to the crew that Baloyi and Chiefs have agreed to exercise the option on his contract, extending his deal at the club until June 2016.
It remains to be seen how much of a role Baloyi will play in the remainder of the 2013/14 season, though the decision to exercise the two-year option on his contract seems to allude to the fact that they want him to stick around.
