Lucas Tlhomelang has called for the return of a player he feels could improve Orlando Pirates’ defence, in order to avoid a third successive loss in all competitions, ahead of their upcoming match against AmaZulu this weekend.
Against SuperSport United in their Absa Premiership match last night, the Buccaneers suffered their second successive loss, having previously lost to Esperance de Tunis in the CAF Champions League last Tuesday.
Former Pirates defender, Lucas Tlhomelang, thinks that Ntsikelelo Nyauza should be considered for a return to coach Milutin Sredojevic’s line-up.
“Pirates’ problem is at centre-back and in goalkeeping. I wish they can bring back Nyauza to play with Happy Jele in central defence. Jele and Ndengane haven’t gelled as a defensive pairing, in my opinion,” said Tlhomelang.
In their next match, Bucs will host AmaZulu at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening. Ironically, Nyauza's last match for Bucs was against AmaZulu in October. The 28-year-old made only five appearances, all starts, for Pirates so far this season.
