Ex-Chiefs Striker Is ‘Bitter And Needs To Prove A Point’
Lewis Macha’s Baroka Contract Details Revealed
Kaizer Chiefs is now history for Lewis Macha as he prepares for the 2017/18 season in the colours of Baroka FC.
The Zambian striker is on a one-year deal with Bakgaga and the Limpopo outfit has the option of extending the player’s deal by another year. Chiefs confirmed last month that Macha’s contract would be terminated.
The player has now joined Baroka as a free agent and M Sport Management’s Michael Ngobeni has discussed Macha’s plans for the upcoming season with his new club.
“He has signed a one-year contract with an option for another year. The boy felt that he wasn’t given enough chance (at Chiefs) to prove himself.
“As a foreigner in a foreign land, one needs to be given a chance to adjust. He needs to prove a point and that is not a secret. I’m not going to be diplomatic to you, he is bitter and he needs to prove a point. He still needs to play in the top flight and to score goals because he needs to be in the national team.
“He is happy about the move to Baroka. We are happy. We are all good to go. Look, Chiefs didn’t sign the boy by default. They knew him well from (the) national level and from Mozambique. But as you know, a club like Chiefs is a big club and a player needs a bit of time there to settle. They (Chiefs) are under pressure themselves. Players differ, as some need time, while others adjust quickly,” Ngobeni told the Siya crew.
