Moroka Swallows have been dealt a major blow ahead of Friday’s clash against Ajax Cape Town, with news that left back, Levy Mokgothu, will miss this tie because of an injury.
Mokgothu injured his hip during Tuesday night’s game against Platinum Stars, which Swallows won 1-0, courtesy of a solitary strike from Felix Obada.
“When I fell, I injured my hip, which in turn aggravated the groin injury that I had just recovered from. I’m experiencing some bit of pain, but I should be alright by next Tuesday’s clash against University of Pretoria,” Mokgothu told the Siya crew.
Meanwhile, Mokgothu believes that the Birds will continue their winning ways when they host Ajax on Friday night.
“It’s not going to be an easy game because as you know, we beat them away in Cape Town in the first round, so they’ll be looking to avenge that defeat, but I’m confident that we’ll beat them again,” said Mokgothu.
“We can’t underestimate Ajax though because they are a good team, but we’re playing at home and we’re looking for maximum points from this game,” concluded Mokgothu.
The clash will take place at Dobsonville Stadium on Friday night at 20h00.
