Chiefs’ New Signing: I’m Here To Make My Mark
Letlhogonolo Mirwa says that he’s at Kaizer Chiefs to make his mark as he looks to leave an impression at the club that he supported growing up.
‘Scara’ was one of a handful of new signings that was announced at Naturena last month as the Glamour Boys bolster their side ahead of the new campaign, and the full back seems eager to try and break into the starting XI as soon as possible.
Mirwa joined alongside the likes of Khama Billiat, a big name signing for the side, and he will be aware of the pressure that comes with donning the famous black and gold jersey.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 23-year-old spoke about how he ‘didn’t think twice’ when the opportunity to join the Glamour Boys came up, calling them a ‘great institution’.
“I grew up supporting Chiefs and when the golden opportunity came to sign for Amakhosi, I didn’t think twice. To become a part of this great institution is the greatest occasion for any young player in South Africa.
“I believe it is by God’s grace that I am here because it has not been an easy journey for me given my family background… I have two beautiful sisters (Oreneile and Oretshepile) who look up to me as their older brother.”
Meanwhile, on the topic of last season with Buya Msuthu in the ABC Motsepe League, and the season to come in the Absa Premiership, he added, “I worked hard during the season and we went to the play-offs where we did not do as well as expected. I believe in teamwork and we gave it our best but unfortunately came up just short.
“I am determined to take this once in a lifetime opportunity with both hands. I am here to make my mark at Kaizer Chiefs and justify the faith the club has shown in signing me.”
