Castro Takes Aim At CCL With Chiefs
Leonardo Castro Wants To Win The Champions League At Kaizer Chiefs
Leonardo Castro says that he wants to help make history at Kaizer Chiefs, including helping them conquer Africa like he did during his time at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Having won the CAF Champions League with Masandawana in 2016, the 28-year-old is hoping to help the Amakhosi do the same, admitting that he already feels very at home with the Glamour Boys.
As he prepares to take on his former employers at FNB Stadium this weekend, Castro has high hopes for his time at Naturena.
He told the club’s official website, “I want to score goals and to make history – I want my name to become part of the club’s rich history. I also want to achieve with Chiefs internationally, including winning the CAF Champions League.”
The Colombian striker is already off the mark for Chiefs having scored on his debut against Baroka FC, and he says that he saw that coming.
He said, “I knew I would score when coming on. I was happy, especially as we were one-man down at the time. I told the others after coming on to just focus. Luckily it all worked out nicely, as we needed those three points.”
