Leonardo Castro Has Picked Up The Goal Of The Month Award For January

By Soccer Laduma - Mar 19, 2018 02:21 PM

Leonardo Castro’s debut goal for Kaizer Chiefs has received the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award for January.

The player completed his move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Amakhosi during the January transfer window this year, where he went on to score two goals in seven Absa Premiership encounters.

The Colombian’s debut goal for Chiefs was confirmed as the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month, in a league clash against Baroka, where Amakhosi secured a 2-1 win.

“Leonardo Castro has won the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award for January for his strike in Kaizer Chiefs’ 2-1 win over Baroka FC,” the PSL said in a press release.

“Castro’s well-taken half volley on the edge of the 18-yard area on debut for his new club, helped Chiefs clinch the come-from-behind victory against their hoodoo opponents at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday, 21 January.

“Castro’s goal, which was voted for by football fans, emerged with the most votes in a shortlist that also included some brilliant goals during the month of January such as Polokwane City’s Walter Musona’s stunning free-kick against Chiefs, Daylon Claasen’s brilliant when Bidvest Wits thumped SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Sibusiso Vilakazi’s classy curler in their home win over Platinum Stars,” the league added.

I don't pay too much attention to our enemies... They always question whatever is happening at Naturena.... We don't win things, they complain. They complain when our players are not recognized, but as soon as they are recognized, they complain too. Everything we do at Naturena always leave question mark to these heartless people.

Castro will score more goals for Chiefs once Chiefs has replaced this clown called Khompela with a coach who put more emphasis on attack rather than on defence like this doomkop does

It happened against Oscarine with Shabba. Musona should not be surprised. Great goal against who? A Baroka keeper? Really now? Musona should have won, he scored a great goal against Mzansis no1

Castro won the goal of the month award due to Chiefs' strong support base,,if Musona was playing for Chiefs surely his goal would have won the award.
