Orlando Pirates defender, Lucky Lekgwathi, says Bucs have forgotten about last Thursday’s disappointing draw against AmaZulu, and are focusing on getting three points against Ajax Cape Town tonight.
“It is not easy to go away and get full points,” Lekgwathi told orlandopiratesfc.com.
“We wanted to win in Durban but it was hard. What is important now is to focus on this game and get three points. We must win this test tonight,” added Lekgwathi.
The Bucs skipper called on the club supporters to be patient and rally behind the team.
“Our supporters must be patient; we are really pushing hard. We will need a lot of support in the next few days as we will play a lot of matches in a short space of time. We will give our all against Ajax and I hope we will come out on top at the end of the match,” commented Lekgwathi.
Meanwhile, Pirates midfielder, Thandani Ntshumayelo, said Bucs will give Ajax all the respect they deserve when the two sides meet tonight.
“Ajax is a team that runs really hard; they struggled a bit in the first part of the season, but they seem to have found their form,” said Ntshumayelo. “Coming here tonight they will fight for maximum points. I do not think the fact that they have a new coach will affect the way they play.
“We need full points from this match and I am confident we will get the points tonight. We will be inspired to beat them because we are at home,” concluded Ntshumayelo.
Pirates will take on Ajax at Orlando Stadium tonight at 19h30.
