Orlando Pirates defender and captain Lucky Lekgwathi won’t feature in this evening's Telkom Knockout clash against Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Lekgwathi reportedly missed Bucs’ CAF Champions League semi-finals clash against Esperance last Saturday due to family reasons.
The centre-back has been excluded from a number of games this season, including the MTN8 final last weekend, where Bucs lost on penalties.
Initial indications were that head coach Roger de Sa wanted to utilise Lekgwathi’s experience for Bucs’ Telkom Knockout clash against Aces, however it has since been revealed that he won’t be part of the 18-man match day squad.
It seems likely that the Pirates captain will be left out of the squad until his situation with the club has been dealt with.
Reports suggest that a meeting between Lekgwathi and Chairman Irvin Khoza has been set up to resolve the issue.
