Former AmaZulu striker Josef Lekata is set to begin a trial with Golden Arrows. Lekata recently parted ways with AmaZulu after failing to establish himself at the club.
According to information shared by Usuthu, the former FC Cape Town player requested to be released from his contract after seeing very little game time. Sources in the know have since confirmed to the Siya crew that Lekata is being targeted by AmaZulu’s cross-town rivals, Arrows.
Lekata has the ability and quality to play at the highest level, however his discipline has been questioned at times. The 25-year-old is believed to have struggled with his weight in the last few months, however Usuthu were unable to get his fitness levels to standard.
Lekata has also played for Black Leopards and Bay United during his professional career.
