The 41-year-old played in Japan, Scotland, Sweden and England, though his highlight, in his own words, was playing in the UEFA Champions League for Swedish giants, AIK.

After a playing career that spanned over two decades, Baxter made sure to keep on his progression by studying his trade, not only as a goalkeeper coach but as a coach in general. Having now completed his UEFA A, B and C badges, the next step is to complete his Pro Licence, the highest coaching qualification that can be earned.

On top of his UEFA badges, Baxter also obtained a National A Licence for goalkeeping, as well as a personal trainer licence, nutritionist licence and became a certified strength coach.

Having coached at AIK in Sweden, Genclerbirligi in Turkey, SuperSport United in South Africa and Aarhus in Denmark, the new Amakhosi coach is well travelled in his trade and will be hoping to leave his mark on the likes of Itumeleng Khune and Brilliant Khuzwayo.
