Manyama Outlines Amakhosi’s AmaZulu Plans

Lebogang Manyama says that Kaizer Chiefs need to be strong as a collective against AmaZulu, saying that players not doing their job can be problematic for the others.
The 28-year-old is expected to return to the matchday squad this weekend as the Glamour Boys come up against Usuthu at FNB Stadium, with the former Cape Town City man having been rested against Free State Stars for their 2-0 win on Tuesday.
Now, as Manyama looks to try and secure a spot back in Giovanni Solinas’ starting XI, the Bafana Bafana international believes that it will take more than individuals if they are to put an end to the club’s three-year trophy drought.
He told the club’s official website, “We have to continue working as a team and if we do that, results will come… We have to press as a team, but if one or two players don’t do what they are supposed to do, it becomes very difficult to get it right and the opponent might punish the gaps left open.
“It’s crucial to work as a team with everyone knowing the role he has to play – not only on the ball but also off the ball. We are working hard to get this right.”
Meanwhile, on the topic of their actual opponents this weekend, Manyama said, “They have a good coach in Cavin Johnson. They are a running team and are difficult to play against. We will have to fight to get the three points.”
Chiefs host AmaZulu at 18h00 on Saturday evening.
