Cape Town City’s attacking midfielder, Lebogang Manyama, is confident of making a full recovery in time for the start of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership season.

Having enjoyed an impressive start to the 2015/16 season with Mpumalanga Black Aces under Muhsin Ertugral, Manyama saw his progress disrupted due to an injury that ended his season prematurely.
However, the player’s impressive performances and high work-rate in the games he played before the unfortunate incident, that saw him break three toes in February, were enough to earn him a contract under City’s new boss John Comitis.
Speaking to the Siya crew at the launch of the now Cape Town-based PSL club, Manyama said he is excited about getting another opportunity to work under Comitis, who was his boss at Ajax earlier in his career.
“It was quite sad to finish my season the way I did, with an injury. But I’m glad that I contributed to the team (prior to the injury), and that’s why I’m here together with some of the players that have come here. Yeah man, these things happen in football. I am here to enjoy my football. Having worked with the boss (Comitis) before, and with the guys that I have come with from Jozi (Johannesburg), I think that will help.

“In terms of my recovery, I’m not 100% yet, but I can assure you that by the time the season starts I’ll be okay,” said Manyama.
