Cape Town City have issued an update on their four injured players, namely, Thabo Nodada, Robyn Johannes, Edmilson Dove and Mpho Matsi.
The City Boys claimed a stellar 4-1 win over Chippa United in the Absa Premiership on Monday, April 03, in an encounter where Bhongolethu Jayiya broke history by scoring the PSL’s fastest hat-trick.
However, as Head Coach Eric Tinkler’s side aim to keep up their momentum in the race for the Absa Premiership league title, the Mother City-based club are faced with a few injuries to their first-team players. However, the likes of Johannes and Thabo Nodada, have made their way back into the fold, while Dove and Matsi could be missing a few more games.
“Edmilson is close to full recovery, he’s been training with the fitness coach separately and could be back for the Bidvest Wits game,” an official from the club confirmed to Soccer Laduma.
“Matsi is estimated to be out for up to 6 weeks with a groin injury he picked up against Chippa United.”
“Robyn is back, he played 45-minutes in today’s friendly match. Nodada has made a full recovery, he played 15-minutes against Chippa on Monday and played a full friendly game today,” the official confirmed.
City will be in action next week, April 13, when they travel away to face Platinum Stars in a must-win encounter, should they look to keep their titles hope alive.
