According to Kaizer Chiefs’ winger, George Lebese’s legal representative, Sammy Mahlangu of SV Mahlangu, Lebese faces a case of of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and malicious damage to property.
Last week Monday, February 9, it was reported by certain members of the local media that a PSL player has been accused of assault and malicious damage to property. It was since revealed that the identity of the player was Chiefs' 26-year-old star George Lebese who in an incident which occurred on Sunday, February 8 in Mamelodi, Tshwane is alleged to have beaten his girlfriend and cause damage to her car.
"Yes, he (Lebese) is facing charges of grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property. They say he allegedly kicked his girlfriend and damaged the car she was driving in.” Mahlangu further confirmed the next court date which will be on March 9 2015
The crew has since reported that despite the charges Lebese faces, he was available for selection and played in Chiefs' CAF Champions League tie against Botswana’s Township Rollers this past Saturday. Lebese also featured in the Amakhosi's league loss against SuperSport United on Tuesday evening.
