Golden Arrows striker Thamsanqa Gabuza has admitted that it has been frustrating having to train on his own and not with a team, as his club and business representatives discuss his future.
The towering striker has made it no secret that he wants to leave the club and face bigger challenges elsewhere. The club seems to have given in to his request.
Gabuza told Soccer-Laduma, “I’m still waiting for my agent to get back to me about my future. He told me he is still in negotiations with the club and there’s something they are finalising.
“I’m not training with the club at the moment and it’s really frustrating because the other players have gone back to proper training. Hopefully by the end of this week I will have known my fate.”
The player’s agent, Mike Makaab, said, “At the moment there is no ‘latest’ on him. He is still contracted to the club (until June 2016). We are looking at a few options for him, with the blessing of Arrows.
“The most important thing is that the transfer fee has to be market-related and it has to be a good deal for the player.”
Speculation has been rife in recent weeks that Orlando Pirates remain the frontrunners to land his signature, however with Lennox Bacela said to be close to joining the Soweto giants, it remains to be seen whether Gabuza is still a Bucs target. Watch the space!
