Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Lance Davids has not put his money on any side winning the Cape Town Derby, but thinks that the only victorious element today will be the passion in the football played by the two sides.
Mother City rivals Ajax and Cape Town City will lock horns for the first time in the PSL tonight, September 23, with City being regarded as the home team this time around.
Club chairman John Comitis and his chargers will welcome their city rivals at 20h00, and the former Ajax player is glad that Comitis is back in the game, after parting ways with the Urban Warriors in 2013.
“It’s a good thing since Ajax have been the only Cape Town team in the PSL after Chippa United left, and Santos is in the NFD. So it is fantastic especially for Cape Town and for the supporters. I am happy that John Comitis is back in the game, so it will also be very competitive now in Cape Town. Derbies are derbies, but the team with the biggest heart will win the game today, football will win today,” Davids told the Siya crew.
