Bloemfontein Celtic winger Lyle Lakay is hoping to make a return to the squad when they play Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout next Sunday.
The 22-year-old winger, who was an influential players for Clinton Larsen’s side last season, did not make the 18-man squad for the last two games, against Kaizer Chiefs and Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the player said although he is disappointed about being dropped, he is determined to work harder to make it back into the squad.
“I’ve not been injured. I last played against Tuks but I have to respect the coach’s decision. Hopefully I will be back in the squad when we play Sundowns next week. That’s a big game for us.
"We’ve been struggling early on, just as last season when we did not have a good start. We’ve failed to find our feet and our rhythm but if we continue working hard, it will come,” he said.
