Bloemfontein Celtic have tied down midfielder Lyle Lakay who extended his contract by another year - thereby ending speculation of a possible move to Sundowns.
The midfielder, as reported by the Siya crew, underwent a trial with the Brazilians - with Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane seemingly keen on the player.
Lakay looked set for a further trial this month, but Phunya Sele Sele are not ready to part ways with the player as they see him as one of their most consistent performers at present.
Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco told the club's official website, "We are extremely happy that Lakay has extended his stay by a further year. He is a good player and we look forward to telling contributions from him for the rest of the season."
The announcement comes soon after the club confirmed the capture of Musa Bilankulu on a six-month loan deal from Wits, as well as the signing of Lindokuhle Phungulwa from their development side, Celtic Colts.
