Zimbabwean winger Kuda Mahachi has survived an injury scare and is expected in the country on Monday to start his new Mamelodi Sundowns life.
Last Sunday, the 20-year-old, who is on loan at Highlanders, did not finish the Zimbabwean giants’ 1-1 draw with Triangle FC, following what appeared to be a horrific foul on him.
He was crying after the match as he battled to walk with apparent pain in his shin.
An initial examination indicated that he would be out of action for some time, however a scan on Tuesday okayed him as better.
Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu has allayed fears that Mahachi would be on the sidelines.
“He started normal training on Wednesday because we had to rest him on Tuesday,” said Kaindu.
“We thought he was going to be out for a long period but we no longer worry about him like before because he is now fine.
“Even the team doctors say he is in a good condition. He will actually be part of the squad that travels to Harare this Sunday to play Dynamos.”
Mahachi is also expected to undergo trials at French League1 giants Monaco after the World Cup.
