Orlando Pirates have provided an injury update, with two of the team’s stars being ruled out for tonight’s crucial match.
Following Mamelodi Sundowns’ 3-2 win against Chippa United on Tuesday afternoon, tonight’s match for the Buccaneers against Maritzburg United will be crucial as Coach Milutin Sredojevic’s team keep their league title winning chances alive. Downs and Bucs are tied with 50 points at the top of the Absa Premiership log, though Pirates are edging their rivals with a superior goal difference.
“Kudakwashe Mahachi has been ruled out of the crucial Absa Premiership encounter against Maritzburg United tonight.The enterprising midfielder is still being treated for an adductor strain following the league clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at the beginning of the month,” Pirates confirmed on their official website.
“According to the medical department, Mahachi has been discharged from physiotherapy, however, the Zimbabwean international must still undergo rehabilitation before he is given the green light to train with the rest of the team,” confirmed Bucs.
The Soweto giants have also confirmed the unavailability of goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane for tonight’s clash.
“Meanwhile, the medical team has also revealed that goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has also been ruled out due to injury. Mabokgwane is said to have sprained his finger during training and is due to see a specialist to determine the full extent of his injury,” Bucs confirmed on the club’s official website.
